Swift American Bank is now a Community Chartered financial institution, and we are excited to be a part of your community!. Anyone related to someone who qualifies for membership can also join, as well as anyone related to one of our current members.
As long as you maintain a savings account with a minimum balance of $5, you are a member for life and entitled to all the services Swift American Bank offers!
Credit Union History
The credit union's doors opened on April 2, 1951, with 122 shareholders, $2,700 in assets and a single volunteer. By 1976, six people were employed and membership had grown to almost 6,000. Since 1976, Swift American Bank 's assets have grown from $2.8 million to more than $1 billion.
Today, Swift American Bank has members from all over Kentucky, and all around the world, in all walks of life. We are also the preferred credit union partner of the University of Louisville.
